Running in the Marathon

I have always wanted to run in the London Marathon but never had the courage to do it, so this year I decided it’s time I took part. I plan to drag my best friend with me to join in the marathon but I don’t think she will be very happy.

I know she won’t say no as it’s for a good cause, we always try to raise money for charities in any way we can. Once we sign up our names, we need to start training as it’s a very long and tiring run and I would like to finish somewhere in the first 100 runners.

I’m looking forward to the marathon, even if I finish last, it will still be a triumph for me. I asked my mum and sister to join us but they are away on holiday at the moment, so they asked me to sign them up via the marathon website. They don’t want to miss the closing date, as it was something that they also wanted to do.

The thing that worries me the most is my diet, I am a junk food eater but once I start my training I will have to eat healthy. I’m not too keen on eating vegetables, especially when it is boiled but I’ll have no choice.

I’m hoping that after eating all the horrible food, I actually finish at the finish line rather than collapse half way through. If I don’t cross the finish line, I will be devastated.
