The stunt bike of choice

When you think of a stunt bike, Triumph bikes do not easily come to mind but, Paul Hanks the new Lings Triumph rider introduced the famous motorbike manufacturer onto the stunt scene. In 2010 Hanks was contacted by French rider Julien Welsch about setting up his Triumph Street Triple for stunting, Paul helped set up the Street Triple for stunting for Julien.

Both of these riders competed in the Ace Cafe’s Streetfighter and Stunt Festival, the most exciting event on the 2010 Streetfighter diary was held at Wembley in 2010. Paul Hanks finished first in the longest stoppie competition; Paul went on to qualify in second place in the freestyle competition. Julien finished second in the stoppie competition.

In the final of the competition, Paul finished top British rider, starting his run as the clear International leader ahead of all the International competitors, however after a slip during a technical trick, he ended up third overall in the International standings behind the two French riders, but still finishing the top Brit. Julien proudly finished with his first podium and the highest scoring Triumph rider!

The new Triumph Street Triple R has created so much interest in the stunt scene, and now seems to be the stunt bike to have. Paul Hanks has been inundated with riders, the press and the general public even as far away as the United States asking him about his bike. Paul is going to be very busy during 2011 sorting out the Street Triple for stunt riders.
