The Story of Hyosung
The Hyosung company Motorcycles were originally launched around the late seventies as the motorcycle section of the The company Group of businesses. This company operates as a major South Korean group of companies with companies ranging from development as far as financing. Hyosung launched producing Suzuki street bike models placed under licence from Suzuki Motorcycles for the local market in the city of Changwon, Korea in the late 1970s. Around 1986, Hyosung Motorcycles established their own research and development centre in Hamamatsu, Japan, and the next year, hyosung motorcycles began mass manufacturing of the company’s own designs. They were selected as the exclusive motorbike provider for the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Hyosung motorbikes had a peak in global recognition at that time. During two thousand and three, Hyosung Motors & Machinery Inc. was separated from the corporate parent to become a stand-alone company. In Summer 2007, The Hyosung company Motors Division was bought by another South Korean company, S&T Group (Science and Technology), and the name changed to S&T Motors, though most models are still sold under the The company name. S&T Group is the third owner of the The company brand in the last few years.
These days, The Hyosung company motorbikes are sold or have been bought in virtually all countries throughout United States and Canada, South and central america, Europe, and Australia. Australia is probably the biggest selling countries for Hyosung motorbikes, where the 250cc displacement motorcycles rank amongst the most popular motorbikes. Such success is not widespread however, the majority of Hyosung motorcycles and scooters experience los sale volumes in most countries where these models are sold under many names, including S&T Motors in South Korea, Naza Blade in Malaysia, United Motors and ATK in the U.S., and Kazinski in Brazil. The owner has often been blamed for poor or lack of “brand loyalty” for their high-quality motorcycles and scooters, which has triggered a lot of confusion with riders across the world and has prohibited the company or brand to fully lift off. Nevertheless, financial problems and various ownership changes through the last few years have forced the manufacturing company to take these different branding partnerships in order to survive.
Hyosung’s biggest selling and succesfulll units would be the GV250 Aquila cruiser, Aquila GV650 cruiser, GT250R sport bike, and GT650R, and most recently the ST7 cruiser. Though the company does make a few other models, including 50 through 250cc scooters, and 50, 90, and 450cc ATVs. The TE450S Atv has a robust engine and compares positively to other models in its class. In 2010 S&T Motors updated almost all models to EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) as well making some aesthetic touches on the sport bike models. Most The Hyosung company models enjoy a very good level of quality though technology is often a few years back and design changes are few and far in between compared to the top Asian brands such as Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda, and Yamaha. All models are well priced (below Asian counterparts) in most markets and make excellent and affordable beginner bikes for many The Hyosung company riders worldwide. Depending on the country where you purchase your The Hyosung company motorcycle, getting parts and quality service may or not be difficult, but in most cases access to parts and accessories makes for a more enjoyable experience with your The company.
Hyosung motorbikes have been ridden around the world for well over thirty years, despite the speculations and the turmoil the company has faced throughout the years, there are not signs that The Hyosung company motorbikes will ever cease production.
