Mum’s Birthday
My mothers 60th Birthday was fast approaching and my sister raised the usual question of gift ideas. After a particularly difficult year for my mother, we thought she deserved an extra special Birthday treat.
Our first idea was to book a once in a lifetime trip. We searched on the internet and found wonderful itineraries aboard luxury cruise ships. Suddenly, my sister remembered that my mum suffers from terrible sea sickness. On one occasion she’d felt sick by simply watching boats from a quayside. Consequently we decided that it was not an ideal choice.
Jewellery? Personally this would be my first choice of gift. Diamonds, Black Diamonds or Black Pearls. I love expensive jewellery. My mum would not be so appreciative. She would worry about losing it and therefore wouldn’t enjoy wearing it.
We decided to take a quick break from searching for the perfect Birthday Present and set to work on planning her surprise Birthday Party. The guest list seemed rather large so we decided to host the party at a nearby hotel. We prepared the invitations, booked a band called Acid Jazz and selected the buffet menu. The next item on our list was transportation for the guests. After making a few phone calls we found a great deal on coach hire for the evening. Whilst thinking about transport arrangements, the idea hit us. A car.
We decided to buy my mum a new car. She had an old Ford Mondeo which would almost certainly not pass its next MOT. We decided to research the Fiat 500 and started trawling Dealer Website through dealer website. After careful consideration we bought her a Fiat 500 1.2 Pop in pearlised white. The perfect gift, for the perfect lady.
