My City Apartment

I have just moved into a brand new city centre apartment. I am actually the first person to move in and it does feel a bit strange sleeping in such a huge building all by myself. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a large balcony that looks out over the city river. I am located on the first floor above a furniture shop and an agency that offers Web Management web management and design.

The apartment is ideal for the commute to work. If I look very carefully I can actually see my office from the balcony of the apartment. It will take me exactly 5 minutes to walk from my apartment to the office. This will give me an extra hour in bed every morning. Fabulous. Everything is on my doorstep. Shops, bars, restaurants. I will never eat at home again.

The apartment is looking a little minimalist at the moment as my furniture has not arrived. The company I bought it from have assured me I will receive it within three days, so fingers crossed. I have ordered some really exclusive designer items including a beautiful daybed in white leather. I think it will look fantastic against the oak floor. I have also ordered a large floor lamp from a designer called Achille Castiglioni.

The new apartment has damaged my bank account a little. City centre living does not come cheap. To re-gain some capital I have sold my car and this will reduce a lot of my monthly outgoings. No petrol, no parking, no road tax, no MOT or unexpected car repairs. And I will no longer be paying Taxi Fares. Therefore I concur it is actually a wise financial decision. Well, I have to justify it somehow!
