Choosing a puppy

From a young I had wanted a dog. My mother always said that dogs were too time consuming and as she was working all day there was nobody to take it for walks. Therefore she bought me a goldfish.

When I bought my own house I decided I wanted a pet. It had to be a dog. I just couldn’t decide which breed. I considered a Dalmatian but remembered their very boisterous nature and the need for a lot of space to run. As I only lived in a small terrace house I decided it was not an ideal choice. I needed a smaller dog so I started to consider terrier breeds. I was not fond of the Jack Russell but I really liked the Fox Terrier. I had made my choice. I wanted a Fox Terrier.

I set about trawling the internet for a puppy. I soon discovered that they were horribly expensive but I thought it would be worth it. After careful consideration I arranged to go and see a litter of Fox Terriers in Kent.

As I live in the North of England, Kent is about a four hour drive. Consequently I drove south straight after work and booked myself a hotel for the evening. The next morning I took my directions out of my holdall. I knew that the breeder was located on the opposite side of Solicitors Kent the road to a solicitors office and therefore would be easy to find.

I hoped this long trip to the south of England was worth it. I was not disappointed. The puppies were beautiful. I could even see the parents in the back garden. Eventually I chose a boy dog. We called him Snowy like Tin Tin’s dog. He is now 13 years old.
