Everybody knows that having a lot of fat on our bellies is not good. Now, though, there exists a book called the Lean Belly Prescription which is promising to help you get rid of the muffin top and get healthy at the same time. This book has been reviewed pretty much everywhere and we wanted to determine if the contents of the book are better than anything else that is already out there so we decided to give it a closer look.
You can find the book at a “regular” book selling internet site like Barnes and Noble, Borders and on Amazon.com. This helps give credibility and legitimacy on the book. It may also help make it less difficult to buy because you don’t have to be worried about some affiliate giving a trumped up review to ensure they earn a commission on a product that doesn’t help you. It helps that the guide was created by Travis Stork. You may possibly remember him from the show “The Bachelor” or maybe recognize him as one of the doctors on the syndicated daytime show “The Doctors.” He is obviously more, however, than simply a TV persona. He is a true doctor and works in the emergency room at a genuine hospital.
The book was created to showcase the Pick 3 to Lean program that Dr. Stork has developed. The Pick 3 to Lean system can help you customize your diet and lifestyle habits but isn’t going to require you to spend hours and hours working out a gym. The plan promises to help you shed weight without having to give up any of the things you love-food, free time, etc. The plan is centered on the N.E.A.T (or Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis) concept. This concept declares that it is possible to burn calories without having to work out.
From what we could see, the book makes lots and lots of guarantees but does not offer any new or important information. In fact, most of the suggestions within this book can be found through a few simple Google searches and basic common sense. It will also be unsatisfying for many who are hoping for some real reasoning behind the instructions they are given. There is very little theory inside the pages of this book. It only gives readers a bunch of guidelines and plans and tells them to follow them. If you’re a person who enjoys being given clear cut plans but doesn’t want to have to be concerned about the whys of what you are doing, this could be a good book for you.
Traditional logic tells us that the only strategy to really lose fat is to eat right and exercise. This book does not use that common logic so there isn’t any real way to tell whether or not it will work the way the marketing promises it will. However, in this era, with a doctor’s blessing (your own physician, not the author of the book), anything at all is worth at least a cursory glance!
