How Hard is it to Learn the Violin?
Many people around the world are asking how hard it is to learn the violin. I suspect people ask this of a lot of different musical instruments not just the violin. But how difficult is it and what sorts of challenges will you face? Read on to discover some of the skills you will need.
Learning any new skill, in particular an instrument will require some amount of commitment and dedication. This does not have to be hours and hours every day but certainly regular and often daily practice is needed. But let me stress that it is always quality over quantity.
Some people may suggest that playing an instrument is very difficult and you need to practice for three hours every day. True, if you do not focus and stare at the walls that surround you during your practice it will take a long time to master anything. But with some simple goal setting and good practice techniques you can improve a lot in just 20 to 30 minutes!
One of the skills you will require is learning to read music. To be exact you will need to learn to read the treble clef. Again with the right learning method this is very simple and requires far less skill than it takes to read this article. Ensure your teacher explains this and gives you some easy techniques that will help you master this skill. Never try to learn to read the treble clef by simply memorizing notes and their position on the stave.
or example notes on the five lines of the stave from the bottom line to the top are E, G, B, D, and F. You can learn this by applying a simple rhyme to those five letters: Every Good Boy Does Fine. Simple.
