Caravan Holidays in Essex and Other Bargain Breaks
The credit crunch has certainly put a strain on our holiday budgets, making it difficult to plan ahead and take advantage of the early-bird booking offers. Many of us simply find ourselves in too precarious a financial situation to be laying out large sums months ahead of the summer holidays.
There are, however, plenty of great value, last minute holidays to be found right here in Britain. By choosing to take a domestic holiday you will cut out the extensive long-haul travel costs whilst also making an environmentally friendly travel choice.
Here’s a quick look at some of the most tempting domestic breaks available right here in the UK:
It’s easy to assume that caravan holidays in Essex or Devon or Cornwall are reserved solely for those who are in possession of a caravan. This is certainly not the case. Caravans are easy to rent through a variety of well-managed caravan resorts, such as those run by Park Resorts. Much cheaper than staying in a hotel and a whole lot more fun, caravan holidays can be a great way to take a break for less.
If you really want to get back to holiday basics, however, why not camp instead? The good old fashioned camping holiday has experienced something of a revival in recent years, and it’s not too hard to see why. When the weather is fair and the scenery is beautiful there’s no better way to make the most of our native soil than with a family camping trip.
Holiday property rental can often be cheaper if you choose to share with a larger number of people. Many rental houses in the Lake District, for example, can comfortably sleep and cater for up to 20 people, greatly reducing your accommodation costs. Why not find another family or two with whom to travel? Your kids will have ready-made playmates and you can share cooking and babysitting duties between you, thereby maximising your own time to unwind.
Still unsure about taking a holiday during this turbulent economic climate? Fear not. Even if you find it’s impossible to get away for a few days you can still take advantage of the many funfilled daytrips on offer in Britain. From a seaside jaunt to a Peak District ramble, we are certainly not short of beautiful countryside or grand sites of historical intrigue on this small island of ours.
There are plenty of affordable ways to have some fun this summer. Let us relish the opportunity to celebrate our motherland in 2011.
