Installation
Installation of a car seat should be easy. Buckling your baby in a car seat is not all that it means. For the proper restraint of the baby, the seat should be installed properly. Choose a seat with an easy installation.
Restraint
The seat should have adequate restraints. Buy one that has straps for each shoulder, one for each thigh and one for between the baby’s legs. Don’t buy plastic shields or T-bar restraints.

Previous car seats were attached to the car by using seat belts, but recent car seats come with a system called LATCH, Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children. In this system, the seat is attached directly to the vehicle. If you buy a front facing seat, it requires both the upper and lower attachment while others require only the lower anchor.
Washability
Babies’ things are often untidy and messy. The car seat for your infant may be easily messed which requires a lot of washing to make it useable and healthy for the child. While buying, don’t compromise with the washability of the seat. Buy one that has a detachable cover which can be machine washed.
Comfort
Make certain that your baby is comfortable. Buy a seat that is well padded and has plenty of head and back support. Babies are so curious about everything. While riding in a car they look around and check out everything. Make sure there is plenty of free movement for your infant.
Versatile Orientation
Good seats are those that face the rear. Now some seats are available that come with versatile orientation so you can adjust them with the need of your child.
Reclining
Reclining features of a car seat help to prevent neck injuries so purchase one which you can easily put into a reclining position.
A car seat may cost you $120 to $320. Don’t expect that you can get a good seat cheaper.Don’t buy one that compromises the above safety and comfort features.
