Blue LED lights – the most popular color of LED you will find

You probably won’t realize it but you will have seen Blue LED lights everywhere. Those icy, ephemeral small blue lights that appear as decoration on homes and trees. That is Blue LED lights.

As colors go, blue decoration wise is a cold and unforgiving color if it is pale and icy looking. However, Blue LED lights are one of the most popular colors for many things. Decorative LED lights are very popular in many homes, especially as festive decoration for trees and to highlight areas you want to draw attention to. Blue LED lights are also very popular in alarm systems as warning or guiding lights. You will often see the piercing blue of LED if you are unfortunate enough to be in a building where an alarm of some kind is raised. Sometimes Blue LED lights are embedded into the floor to guide you to a safe exit route.

Of course, where you will see Blue LED lights the most is on emergency vehicles, most vehicles will have a combination of colors on a lightbar. The most popular color for lightbars would be a combination of red, amber, white and of course Blue LED lights. Lightbars are an essential piece of equipment or kit for any emergency vehicle whether it be police, fire, medical or rescue vehicle. The lightbars perform a specific purpose, they warn and inform and without the high visibility the lightbars give, many vehicles would not be seen.

You will see Blue LED lights normally on stationary vehicles when they are at a roadside in attendance at an accident or vehicle recovery. The Blue LED lights are visible from a great distance and that is important for a stationary vehicle. With the ‘Move Over’ law now in most states, you will be aware (or you should be aware) of what you need to do if you see flashing lights ahead on the road. Your state will have published publicly what is expected of you in these circumstances. If you fail to adhere to the ‘Move over’ law in any state, you could have a hefty fine imposed on you and penalty points added to your license.

Move over law aside, most of us would see flashing lights at a roadside, although there are people in the past who have claimed not to see them or personnel working at the roadside. The main reason the Move over law has been imposed is to offer some protection to personnel as a large number are killed or injured on our roadsides every year. First responders do a difficult enough job without the added danger of potential collision or accidents when they are attending a scene. Blue LED lights at a side of the road can only mean one thing and that is you need to observe any law in place and drive with extra care and attention.

Blue LED lights are everywhere and we will continue to see them in many places either as decoration or hazard warning. Probably the most noticeable Blue LED lights you will see would be the modern version of the strobe light that has the added benefit of being visible through 360 degrees. That wide range of visibility means it is used on many emergency vehicles. You can of course get other color LED strobe lights such as amber and red, so whatever your needs are for hazard warning on your vehicle you should be able to find the right LED lighting.
