Find your next used car on Facebook

The internet has been taken over by social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and YouTube. Businesses have realised that their potential customers are spending an immense amount of time on these social networks, so it was essential to get their products or services in front of these people on social network sites.

Previously car manufacturers and dealers could advertise on Facebook via the Marketplace advertisement platform, this works very well for price competitive offers. Advertising used stock on Facebook has never been very easy due to the nature of used cars being very individual and specific; dealers and traders have relied on used car portals like Auto Trader to advertise their stock.

Auto Trader has now announced an exclusive partnership with Oodle, the online classifieds marketplace and operator of Facebook Marketplace, to allow its dealer clients to send their stock to the social networking website. This is great news for used car dealer in Sussex as it opens them up to 26 million UK Facebook users.Jonathan Williams the Auto Trader director of e-marketing said, “Marketplace helps our customers to reach the vast Facebook user base.
It’s a great platform for car dealers to reach a huge and engaged audience.”

Under the partnership agreement only Auto Trader advertised vehicles and Facebook user postings are included in the ‘vehicle’ section of Marketplace. Duncan Dunlop, Oodle general manager said, “Marketplace, both on Facebook and Oodle, provides a social platform for car buyers and sellers to come together”
