Get a tour of the secret world of Bentley
Bentley, one of – if not the most prestigious car brands in the world is offering a very rare opportunity to get a guided tour of its usually very secretive design studios. The Bentley design house are offering a rare opportunity to take a glimpse inside the secret and closed world of their studios and follow the development of a Bentley from the first sketch right through to the moment it drives out of the factory gates.
The showcase of designs has been named “An Unbroken Line” by Bentley and will be held at their head quarters in Crew, UK. Amongst the exhibits will be the very first drawings for the new Bentley Continental GT, including concepts consigned to the studio archives.
Bentley designers will be offering a step-by-step guide as to how the interior and exterior styles took shape both through computer virtualization and sophisticated full-scale clay models. They will also provide an insight into how they employ state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques such as aluminium superforming, adapted from the aerospace industry, to shape the metal into the complex but clean lines that define the new Bentley Continental GT.
A little bit of Bentley history will also be presented, the exhibition will highlight key moments of the company’s lineage and the unbroken line of signature characteristics that define a Bentley to this day.
As well as all the serious stuff the Bentley team will also be providing guests with a small preview of the light hearted nature of the studio. The guests will get clarification on terms such as ‘Teddy Bear Ears,’ the ‘Bentley Bat Cave’, ‘Bentley repairs’ and ‘Dame Ednas’.
