First aid kits are an important piece of safety

The First aid kits are an important piece of safety equipment for every company to have regardless of potential workplace dangers. While more accidents may occur at a manufacturing plant than in an office building, there is always a chance that an employee will suffer an injury. Having a first aid kit on hand will not cure all medical problems, but it is an excellent tool to use as a first response.

Industrial First Aid Kits

OSHA and ANSI, the American National Standards Institute, both have guidelines that a first aid kit must meet certain criteria to be effective in the workplace. These standards may differ based on the type of business and work performed. For example, an iron plant would need additional safety supplies that a data processing center would not. Depending on the work environment, an employer may also choose other first aid supplies to have on hand such as burn kits or stitching supplies.

Just having a first aid kit available does not mean that an employer has provided a safe workplace. Each company should staff an individual trained in administering general first aid as well as take additional steps to ensure employee safety. Every employer should evaluate the potential dangers their employees face and determine what safety precautions they can take in order to minimize injuries and maximize production.

We realize the dangers that employees may face whether they are working on a computer, an assembly line or a steel plant. We have first aid kits that include standard supplies as well as specialized kits in the event of on-site injuries. Preparing for the unexpected is the best way to remedy an unfortunate occupational injury.
