Ranchers and cowboys would often sand down the fences or paint them the best they could and made sure the nails stuck outward towards the outside of the fence from the horses. In the early 1920s new materials for building horse fencing went into production. These materials were made out of synthetics and took the industry of fence building to a new level.
These mass produced fences made it possible for more and more people to own horses that did not have the time to build horse fencing on their own. This allowed for people living in the big cities to own their own horse property, in fact cities had to zone for this new culture of urban horse ownership. It is amazing to think that horse fencing became not until the 1800s even though horses have been used since civilization has started. The history of America is quite rich and the horse is at the foreground that moved America and created innovation.
