The working dogs are the dogs that are bred for performing different tasks. These dogs are trained for performing specific work. Some dog breeds can be used to perform numerous tasks while other breeds can do certain task well for which they are bred. The basic difference in the working dog breeds and the companion dog breeds is in their interaction with humans.

Boxer Dogs:

The boxer is the well-built, aggressive and strong dog. It has a good sense making it a good watch dog. Because of their aggressive nature, these dogs are not recommended for the homes with small children.

Boxers are the working dogs that initially came from Germany. These dog breeds were initially bred for hunting wild animals. With the strong jaws, the early boxers would hold the animal until the hunter arrived. Today’s boxers have strong instinct to guard and protect their owners.

Boxers are used for a lot of activities. They can be a good companion dogs and sensitive therapy dogs. They enjoy the activities like agility and tracking. Some boxers are used as police dogs, service dogs, and guard dogs. In some places, boxers are used for herding sheep.

The male boxer dogs grow up to 25 inches and weigh around 55 to 75 pounds. Females are smaller than males. This dog breed have short, smooth and shiny coat that lies flat against their body. They have a sturdy look and muscular body.

Color of Boxers:

Boxers are mostly popular by their two colors, fawn and brindle. The fawn colored boxers can be available in light or dark color. Brindle boxers have black stripes on fawn background. The stripes can be thin or wide giving the complete black look to your boxer. Fawn and brindle boxers may also have white color on their body.

Boxers can well adapt to the apartment life if sufficiently exercised. They are fairly active indoors and do best in the average-sized yard. Boxers need daily exercise and long brisk walk. They enjoy the sessions of play.
