This is one of the reasons that this ten thousand step approach has become well-liked. The ten thousand step approach is founded on the idea that walking ten thousand steps every day can help you get healthy-that it helps cut down on the amount of time you need to spend at the gym. Walking is often a brilliant and low impacting exercise. How often have you heard “even a walk round the block each day can save your life”?
Obviously, getting in ten thousand steps day after day will likely be a challenge. That’s a whole lot! The good news is that you probably already take most of those steps each day already and don’t know it yet.
All you need to do is learn how to add in a couple or few thousand more steps to achieve this goal. So how can you do that without feeling just like you’re spending an entire day walking about?
There are a bunch of obvious things you can do to take more steps. One classic example of this is climbing the stairs instead of taking an elevator or escalator.
When you go to the store or the mall park further away from the entrance. Keep your vehicle in one spot and walk your bags and boxes out to the car after you finish shopping in each store instead of just carrying more and more things with you as you run your errands and go shopping. Using public travel is great for increasing your step count since you have to walk to the bus stop and back instead of just to and from the car. Obviously, simply just taking a short walk each day is also a good idea.
There can be some less totally obvious ways to raise the amount of steps you take each day. Set up a market shopping list differently. Most individuals will write out a grocery list based on the aisles in the stores. You may choose to order your list according to category including meat, product and dairy. Then buy in accordance with the order of the list. Sure you’ll wind up running back and forth through the store however it’s great for taking more steps every day. Instead of putting your mailbox inside your entry way or installing it in a wall of your home, put it out by the curb on a post. This will create at least several dozen steps to your count everyday as you walk from the door to the box and back.
The most effective thing relating to this idea is that every single step you take during the day counts toward your goal whether they are on treadmills or to the bathroom and back. Have fun with it!
