College of the Holy Spirit
In 1926, the Missionary Servants of the Holy Spirit opened the college department of the Holy Ghost College (the original name of the school which was founded in 1913) with Associate in Arts as the first course offered. More and more courses were introduced in the passage of years.
CHS is committed to its mission of providing quality and liberating education to women. It aims to continuously produce graduates who will uphold the Christian faith and will be active participants in transforming the society.
San Beda College
Founded in 1901 by the monks of the Order of Saint Benedict, San Beda College (SBC) caters to Filipino men, offering a number of Bachelor programs. SBC strives to provide its student a responsive Christian education by giving emphasis to a Christian-oriented academic program. Aside from instilling values among its studentry, the College also trains the students to become thinkers and active participants in the corporate world.
SBC today still continues to adhere to the ideas of Fides (faith), Scientia (knowledge) and Virtus (virtue). The College believes that nothing less than a wholistic education should be accorded to its students. It adheres to the idea that its young men should become fully human, wholly Christian, and truly Filipino.
De la Salle University
De la Salle University (DLSU) along Taft Avenue in Manila, is originally a school for boys. It came into existence in 1911 when the Brothers of the Christian Schools (more popularly known as the La Salle Brothers) built the first building in Manila. For many years, La Salle catered only to men, but in 1973, it finally opened its doors to women .
As a Catholic educational institution, DLSU dedicated itself to the continuing tradition of molding able professionals and future leaders of the country. It also commits itself to the discussion of vital contemporary issues that concern the church and the nation.
