My Experience about Checking Golf Cart Batteries
It is well known that electric vehicles are all powered by electric energy, which is stored in the storage battery. According to different demand of different electric vehicles, the storage battery is also various. The clerk told me that my golf cart adopted the lead-acid storage battery, which is long service life. He also exhorted me to maintain the golf cart battery on a regular basis so as to prolong its life. At that moment, I only know how to do, but can’t have an actual operation.
But unfortunately, I had to check the battery because my golf cart stopped suddenly in front of me. I took out all of my ready checking tools to rescue my cart. The following is just an experience of me about checking golf cart batteries.
I recalled the clerk had told me that if I had any problems with my golf cart, the battery was the first thing I should check. So I started checking the battery.
First, I examined the battery terminals to see if they were securely connected and clean. I saw that my battery was recently hooked to a battery charger, and I used a battery tester to check the water level in the battery. I found the water level was low, so I added some distilled water. Don’t overfill it or it may hurt you.
Then I examined the outside case on the battery for signs that there may have been battery acid leaking onto the battery. The clerk told me the battery case cannot be fixed if I found acid leaks; I would have to replace the battery. I had to clean my golf car, because I found that the battery leaked into the golf cart and onto other parts. To clean up and neutralize the battery acid spill, I mixed a solution of a quart of warm tap water and a half of cup of baking soda. Finally I used the solution on a soft cloth and cleaned the spill.
After my examination, my cart got started finally. I was very thankful in my heart for the thing that he told me how to maintain and check my golf cart batteries. If anybody meets the same problem with me, hope this help you solve your trouble.
