Weight Loss – Running Off Your Extra Pounds
You can find plenty of reasons why people take pleasure in running, and probably the most common reasons would be to assist with weight loss.
Some other factors are:
* The aerobic component of running assists in the lowering of heart disease.
* No expensive gear is required – just a good pair of running shoes.
This list could go on and on, and the two reasons given above are just basic examples.
Now if we think about running and weight loss together it appears like a lot of challenging work to lose a few pounds. To shed the excess weight while running we have to also concentrate on eating at the right times. Never eat (or drink) anything aside from water before you set out on your run, and make sure that you keep yourself hydrated while running. Remember running to lose weight requires time, but over this period your health will also increase as your weight slowly decreases.
So the question is – How do you lose weight by running?
Remembering that 1 pound of body fat consists of 3500 calories, and that walking/running 1 mile only burns off about 100 calories, you begin to panic as you assume that its going to become a lengthy run just to lose that one pound of fat. Yes, it is about 35 miles in fact. But do not forget, whilst running you have to change your eating habits and lay off all the tasty treats you give your self. This means that you are going to take in less calories, which assists with the burning off of calories. If you don’t put calories in, the body will begin burning off the existing pounds, as it needs to find the additional calories you need whilst running from somewhere else.
Your metabolism also increases after a good run, and can still be working up to two hours after your exercise is finished. Which means you will still be burning more calories even at rest. This does not take place on a diet plan. So what are you waiting for? Grab those running shoes and shed those extra pounds.
A good point to remember is that every single bit of muscle you build also helps with your weight loss, as muscles use much more calories than fat even at rest.
So with perseverance and dedication you’ll be able to take to the neighborhood parks, or roadways, and run. Run while feeling the freedom of movement, the wind within your hair along with the sun on your face. You will soon understand that losing excess weight while regaining your health could be the greatest method to get your natural curves back. Within a few months not simply will you appear good, but you’ll feel on top of the world and willing to take on that road race you used to only watch on the Television.
