Introduction to affiliate marketing
Have you heard about great ways for making money online? Then you are probably asking yourself what affiliate marketing is.
If you have a website of your own, it will be a good way for you to make money from affiliate market. You can even make money while you are doing nothing. Of cause, you do have to DO something at the beginning. once you set up the system, you can just relax and wait for the money getting into you wallet.
Being an affiliate, you basically place an ad for someone else’s business or product on your website. There doesn’t have to be any direct selling or promotion. you just put the link up there. Let’s talk about who is involved, and most importantly, how you make the money.
As I mentioned above, you can become an affiliate if you have your own websites. The owner of the product or service you promote is called the merchant. Both merchant and affiliate have benefits from affiliate marketing, and this is why affiliate market is so popular. The merchant doesn’t necessarily have to do much selling of their own. They don’t need to spend too much on advertising. They only have to pay the affiliate when the relationship is working, they only need to pay when someone click the affiliate link and make a purchase(or just make an action). This means the merchant only pay for the result.
Affiliate market networks may be different from each other. There are three major types of affiliate market.
The first one is pay-per-click(PPC). Every time a visitor leaves your website by “clicking” on the link or banner that advertises the merchant product or service, a certain amount of money is paid to the affiliate. This amount can be small or large, depending on the product, the relationship and other factors.
The second one is pay-per-sale. If a visitor buys a product as a result of the advertising on your website, a percentage or commission is given to you, the affiliate. This is always much higher than the PPC commission.
The third one is pay-per-lead. Overtime if a visitor signs up for the membership of the merchant, or enters his information such as the name, address, telephone number, and so on, through the affiliate link on your site, then you get a previously agreed upon amount of money.
This is not complicate. The hard part of affiliate marketing is deciding which merchants to go with. You must choose the products or services wisely. You shall always do research on the merchant before you select them.
So, what is affiliate marketing. It’s an effective way to make money online. But it takes lots of research and homework to get there.
