Ford Focus displayed at Lakeside

Shopper’s at Lakeside got the UK’s first public glimpse of the new Ford Focus when it goes on display in February, the shopping centre in Thurrock displayed Ford’s exciting new model in its Debenhams flagship store from 17th February 2010 on for four days.

The visitors were introduced to the new Ford Focus two weeks before it went on sale on the 1st March 2011, which coincided with the new “11” registration plates. The first shipments of the the all-new model were delivered to the dealers at the end of February.

Ford prioritised the pre-delivery inspection of the five-door, candy yellow-coloured 1.6 diesel Titanium model so it was ready for its Lakeside debut, they estimated 7,500 people will visit Lakeside on each of the day that the new Ford Focus will be displayed.

The Ford Focus is loaded with hi-tech features including automated parallel parking, a lane keeping aid to keep the car in between lane markings and traffic sign recognition, which displays the last speed sign passed on the instrument panel.

Jon Wellsman, Ford Britain sales director, said: “UK motorists are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new Ford Focus, replacing the model which was top selling car for 10 years. Essex is the Ford brand’s spiritual home, so putting our newest car on display to Lakeside shoppers will please our local Ford fans.”

When I found out about the Focus being displayed, I asked my husband to takes me to lakeside on one if the four days, and to my surprise he said he didn’t mind driving our used Focus from Rochdale to go and see the new Ford Focus.
