Caesars Entertainment honored as ‘Corporation of the Year’
As the Asian community jumped into the Year of the Rabbit, the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce honored Caesars Entertainment as Corporation of the Year at its 25th anniversary celebration. “We celebrate a silver anniversary,” said Vida Chan Lin chamber president. “It’s people like you who make a difference in the community…. Caesars has consistently come to the table to support the Chamber of Commerce.”
“We are honored to be a supporter tonight,” said Tony Gladney, Vice President of National Diversity Relations, who commended Lin for the Chamber’s accomplishments and their work in the community.
Chief Diversity Officer Fred Keeton accepted the award on behalf of Caesars Entertainment. “I can’t tell you how proud we are to receive this award,” he said. “We know we want to support economic development…. We want to share our time with you, our talents with you, our touch and our treasure. We look forward to many, many more years.” Caesars Entertainment’s involvement with the Asian Chamber is just one of many ways the company brings to life its commitment to employees, communities and diversity.
Carolene Layugan, Responsible Gaming Program Manager with Caesars and Asian Chamber of Commerce Foundation Treasurer and board member, helped coordinate the event. “The Asian Chamber of Commerce and Asian Chamber of Commerce Foundation have recognized Caesars Entertainment’s continued support and true commitment to the AAPI Community in Nevada. Despite economic challenges, Caesars Entertainment continues to partner with the Asian Chamber of Commerce and Asian Chamber of Commerce Foundation to ensure its mission is met,” Layugan said.
The rest of the evening was filled with live dances and toasts. A lion dance was preformed by the Lohaan School of Shaolin as well as a performance by the Filipiniana Dance Company of Las Vegas and the Nani Ola Hawaiian Dance Company among others. The event honored Asian and Pacific Islander traditions and customs, including a presentation of red envelopes filled will $1 and $2 bills that were given to each guest during the dinner as traditional Chinese New Year dictates.
