The search is on for Santacruzan 2011 Sagalas & Hermanas

The Filipino Ministry of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles is searching for SAGALAS HERMANAS, and ANGELS. The Santacruzan 2011 is scheduled at 9 am, on May 14, 2010 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.
Santacruzan 2011 is a showcase of the Filipinos’ love for our Lady. Last year’s celebration brought memories of our age-old tradition and veneration of our Lady – showering Her with flowers while processing Her image at the LA Cathedral and around the Cathedral, where the event was held. The procession is reminiscent of the ones we hold in the different provinces in the Philippines – going down the winding streets of both the poorest and the richest of neighborhoods and incorporating our history and heritage through the different personalities represented by each of the sagalas. A Eucharistic celebration will follow.
It is truly a memorable event for the participants, the spectators, and most of all to our SAGALAS, HERMANAS AND ANGELS for having the opportunity to pay tribute to our Blessed Mother. In addition, it is an opportunity to hand down to our younger generation our rich cultural/religious celebration that our ancestors have passed on through the years.
This celebration will not be a success without your participation. We still need SAGALAS. HERMANAS AND ANGELS to complete the line-up of both historic and religious personalities. For information, please call: Patti Santiago, (818) 472-4288 “Santacruzan” Chair, Ging Magaliman, Vice Chair, at 323.506-3039 and Carol Evangelista at (626) 251-3862.
The sagalas and Hermanas of Santacruzan 2011 will be featured at our 2011 Dinner Dance, scheduled on June 25, 2011, from 6 pm to 1 am, in SHERATON Los Angeles Downtown Hotel. Donation: $55 per person. Tickets are now available by calling Cora Aragon Soriano, Dinner Dance Chair, at 213.999.1993.
The Santacruzan 2011 and Tawag sa Pagkakaisa Dinner Dance are organized and sponsored by the Filipino Ministry of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles California, composed of the Filipino Catholic Sectoral Groups: Charismatic and Renewal, Formations, Men & Women Religious & Deacons, Devotions, and Council of Servant Leaders. Rev. Fr. Albert Avenido, moderator, can be reached at 213.587.2226.
