What You Will Need for the UK Tier 5 Visa

The United Kingdom High Commission has recently introduced some new visa programs that will enable young people to stay and work in the United Kingdom while also being able to travel around. If you have thought of going to England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, or Wales, then by applying for the UK Tier 5 visa, you will be able to travel to the UK and work while you are there.

The advantage of being able to work while you are traveling is obvious – you can make money to support yourself. But employers back home will also appreciate the fact that you have worked overseas along with all of the experience that you have gained while traveling. A UK Tier 5 visa is the only way that you can enter into the United Kingdom as a young person and legally work, too.

In order to get this type of visa, you will first need to prove that you have the funds to sustain yourself during at least the beginning portion of your trip, and that is currently considered to be 1,600 GBP. The money will need to be in your account for at least three months prior to applying for the visa.

In addition, you will need to be a valid passport holder from one of the following countries – New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Japan, or Monaco. The UK Tier 5 visa is only meant for young people between the ages of 18 and 30 (there are other working visa programs available for older people), and you must be willing to travel with no dependents. Once you have applied, you will be asked to undergo a biometric scan, and then you will be free to go. There is no need for you to line up a job prior to traveling, which is an added advantage.
