Google’s New Local SEO Canada for a Small Company
It probably has not filtered down to Firefox as of yet, but if you use Google Chrome as your Internet browser, you are going to see that your local SEO Canada have been altered by quite a bit. Canada hasn’t been affected so far, and not all Internet browsers are set to get it in the United States, but this means that every small business SEO agency is going to be greatly impacted.
Last July, there were suspicions raised about some interesting tests that were occurring; however in the last few days, a great number of changed local SEO company results have spawned a lot of emails to SEO Canada agencies who are amazed by these changes.
As an example, if a search was performed for San Francisco Chinese Restaurant, a map would pop up with seven of the best results pinpointed near the top of the page, adwords would be located to the right of the results and more generic results would be below the map.
Using Google Chrome, enter the same search and now the page looks entirely different. The top seven results are no longer on the page, the map is in a different location, and the general results and adword results are combined.
This is a huge development for several reasons. First, Google local was once available to everyone, even if you didn’t have a website. Now, even though companies without a website can still be a part of the search, they will probably not get in the top tier of results. Second, companies with excellent websites that didn’t show up in the top 7 results before now have a better chance to get into the top results. Lastly, Google is apparently positioning itself to better combat spam. False listings are no longer going to be admitted by virtue of keywords. They will have to have a top website as well.
There are a couple of drawbacks to this new system. To begin with, Google’s misinformation is going to be more prevalent. Second, certain local business SEO companies that used to get two results in the general results could possibly only get one or even none because adwords are now mixed with the general results. In addition, businesses that are both local and global may not get into the results at all. Lastly, companies that do not have websites will probably also not be in the listings either.
There is, as a result of this change, going to be a huge shift in which companies get into the results and which ones don’t. Most small business SEO Canada agencies will probably be in favor of this change because companies with the best websites are going to reap the rewards. The worst part of this deal, from a local SEO company, is the misinformation that is certain to be disseminated.
