I am turning into my father.
It really seems to be the case that I am turning into my father. The worse thing is, I am a girl. When I lived at home my father and I argued continuously. My mother said it was because we were very similar but I never really knew what she meant, until recently.
For example, when I was a teenager I wanted to listen to a music station when we were driving along in the New Ford Focus car. However my father would insist on listening to Radio 4! I thought it was complete rubbish and could not understand why anybody would listen to it. These days I find myself tuning in to Radio 4, even when I am at home. I find Radio 1 incredibly noisy and enjoy something with a little more substance.
Furthermore I cannot leave the house without reading the morning news, a strong coffee and a cigarette. Saturdays are for lying in bed and Sundays are for gardening and car washing. I have also picked up some of his other annoying traits such as clapping at the television, quoting Shakespeare and jingling change in my pocket!
I suppose we all come to a stage where we turn into our parents. However normally girls turn into their mother and boys into their father. Lets just hope I don’t start growing nose and chest hair. Oh gosh!
