Updated impression: Eve Online
It’s been a while since I tried the massive online game Eve Online for the first time , and even if I then became very intrigued by the game’s complexity and possibilities, it was cold space after each bit monotonous and difficult to endure in the long run.
To have any visualized Eve Online’s learning curve
I did not, however, to add the game from me and love me right in the videos from a big player-versus-player tournament organized by developer CCP regularly. The fighting has players commentators, many of them will be broadcast live on the Internet.
A unique MMOG
Such events, along with ” Fanfest “held each year shows the developer’s incredible dedication to their game, and because of this and a steady stream of free updates Eve Online has clearly something that is almost unheard of massive online gaming context.
It has in fact developed in a convincing way that it has gone from having about 25 000 players at launch, to now having around 300 000 Given the modest Eve Online’s start is this is almost a miracle. Achievement will also be even greater with regard to all the obvious flaws with the game.
It has a user interface that is far too complicated, is not intuitive and difficult and with such small print that almost have to use a magnifying glass. The game’s world map is so cumbersome and messy that it can make even the most enthusiastic romekspert to run screaming out of the room in terror.
It has had and still has a fairly large extent, such a steep learning curve and difficult introduction for new players that playing Eve Online can often seem like taking a graduate of the University or have a job you do not get paid for.

All these things are items most developers of massive online games do not want to touch if they had a ten-meter long ildtang, so the big question is of course: How in the world, Eve Online success in terms of all its massive weaknesses?
The answers are many: An unwavering belief in an ingenious idea. That Eve is an open sandbox where players control everything. The game has a game system as deep and well-made that it barely exists makent. The developer has shown an incredible ability to renew and further development.
These factors ensure that Eve gives her develop the holy grail in the massive online game industry – “player retention” or,eve isk,in Norwegian that the game keeps players on their very long.
If a game can do this gives the designer room to further develop the game and strengthen the functioning gaming systems, and not have to constantly fight a frantic struggle for survival and relying on a constant influx of new players.
