Discover How To Dramatically Lower Your Golf Score
It’s crazy how ignored the importance of a proper golf grip is! I often get preoccupied with swing plane, club alignment, coming over the top, shoulder turn, etc. I told you guys that I used golf magazines to learn the game and improve it. Well, you know how it is after reading one of those instructional articles. When really a simple tweak of my right or left hand could correct my shots.
Proper Golf Grip: A good plan is to grip the club with a “Neutral” grip. The reason we call it neutral is because it will not cause a draw, and will not cause a fade. It is neutral and will therefore promote an excellent drive. I was always slicing my drives before I got this system.
Here are the 3 types of grips. Overlap, Interlock, or Baseball Grip. There is no correct method to choose between these 3. It really comes down to which feels best. No matter which method you choose, the following three steps can still be followed to grip the golf club properly.
1. Grip the club with a light, grip pressure more towards the fingers that the palms- This light grip pressure in the fingers will allow the club to move more freely, allowing you to hit the ball further with less effort.
2. Point the Right V- Point the “V” between your right thumb and forefinger towards your right shoulder. This is considered a neutral right hand grip.
3. Point the Left V- Point the “V” between your left thumb and forefinger towards the middle of your chest. Another way to look at it is to make sure you can see two and a half knuckles on the back of your left hand.
By taking these steps to grip the club before every shot, you are maximizing the possibility of hitting it straight and powerfully. Neglect these steps and you make find the golf grip too weak or strong, causing a slice or hook. Proper golf grip works every time!
This information is in greater detail and the program I used includes videos also. I found the videos the very helpful. The system is very thorough. I still have not gone through the entire system yet. I just had to do this blog after seeing the effect on my game using the proper golf grip caused.
The program could seem a bit lengthy, but the instructors have done an awesome job of splitting it up in sections so you can improve aspects of your game. I don’t want to ruin an entire day out by trying too many things. I’m happy improving my game a little at a time. The length of my shots and the direction have improved so much with the proper golf grip that my usual 92-102 score is now 84-92. I’m so delighted that I have to recommend this system!
I’m excited about to improving my chipping and putting next. See you on the course!
