The issue about the Barack Obama birth certificate has been going on for years now. Ever since he first came onto the scene, skeptics have been asking for a real, authentic certificate proving that he is in fact an American citizen.There are a few reasons for this. For one thing, many people just want to find something – anything – to nail Mr. Obama on. They want to be able to point out that he is unfit to be the President of the free world, no matter what kind of grounds they have to use. For example, in June 2008 the Obama campaign made public a copy of his birth certificate on the internet. It claims that he was born in Honolulu on 4 August, 1961 to an African father and Caucasian mother. Still, skeptics immediately jumped on it, and self-proclaimed “experts” called the copy a fake. They would point out very minute details, and in fact believed it may have been forged using Obama’s half sister’s certificate as an original to work from.However, since then most true experts agree – the Barack Obama birth certificate is authentic. Not only have they seen copies of it, but several have actually held it and claimed it to be valid. This makes sense, because anyone running for President of the United States would be put through huge filters to make sure they aren’t a threat to national security.To prove it even further, several other authorities have come forward showing that they have proof of his birth in the U.S. The two largest newspapers in Hawaii provided records that they printed news of Mr. Obama’s birth shortly after he was born. The small clip reads that a son was born on 4 August, 1961 to a Mr. and Mrs. Barack H. Obama in Honolulu. Officials from the state of Hawaii have also said that they have records of this birth.Still, there are skeptics out there that “want the truth”. For example an attorney in Philadelphia raised a case in late 2008 claiming that Mr. Obama was actually born in Kenya, not Hawaii. Although he submitted a Kenyan birth certificate, it was later decided that this was a fake and was thrown out.Another similar case in March of 2009 was raised, but again the courts decided that all evidence was either forged or not valid.So is Mr. Barack Obama an American citizen, having been born in the U.S. so he can claim a seat in the White House? Nobody can really know for sure besides his family, but all evidence points to the Barack Obama birth certificate proving his citizenship.
