Relocation Power Checklist

In this article we will be going to provide you with the common things that you need to plan ahead of time, before your day of relocation to ascertain a flawless and stress-free relocation. By following this checklist, you will eliminate scenarios such as forgetting and losing things and generally being unprepared.

Three Months Before You Move.
? It is greatly recommended to choose your interstate moving company and sign an agreement with them. Now would also be a great timing to let third-party contractors that would help you in your relocation.
? Sort through your storage room, basement, attic or garage, and dispose of the stuff that you don’t want to take with you to lessen the pile of properties that will be packed, saving you both money and time.
? Resolve what to do with your prohibited items or articles such as guns and ammo, illegal drugs, and other unlawful paraphernalia.
? Decide whether you are going to take your car or not.

Two Months Before You Move.

? Arrange your mailing list of businesses and individuals like banks, credit card companies, journal or magazine subscriptions, etc. who needs to know about your change of address.
? Start to organize and compile important documents and manuscripts like passports, birth/marriage certificates, etc.
? Apply for any compulsory visas or relocation certificates.
? Check the usability your equipment in the context of your new home and clean them while you’re at it. I.e. Lawnmowers shouldn’t be brought along if your new location doesn’t have a lawn.
? Separate children’s toys. You can gather old and unused toys in a sack and sell or donate them to a nearby charity house.

One Month Before You Move.
? Hoard unused clothes and sell or give them away to the needy.
? Agree an insurance value and terms with your mover?
? Make arrangements with services that you will be using at your new home like electricity, water, gas, etc.
? Return all borrowed stuff to their respective owners!
? Cancel subscriptions at your old residence or arrange it to be forwarded to your new home.

7 Days Before You Move.
? Defrost and clean your fridge.
? Plan easily-fixed meals at your moving day or better; just eat at a nearby restaurant or fast food.
? Separate items that you will want to travel personally with.
? Empty the fuel compartments of power tools like lawn mowers.
? Check if your packed medications can last for at least 14 days, and make sure you have copies of prescriptions to be used.
? Arrange for someone to take care of your children on your relocation day.

On Your Moving Day.
? Coordinate with your moving company.
