Away Day
I work for a leasing company who offer finance solutions for commercial businesses. My job is based in the administration department. I basically organise endless amounts of sales paperwork for Kia Magentis Essex car leases and office equipment. Its rather dull but it fits well around the “school run” and the salary is not too bad.
Each year the company treats us to an activity day which is mainly for boosting morale and team building. Last year it was held at a go-karting race course in Chester. It was quite a male orientated event and a lot of the female staff complained that it gave the men an unfair advantage. Consequently the venue for this years “away day” was chosen very carefully. However to be honest I would rather go driving go-karts again. Heres why!
We are going to somewhere called “Tree Top Adventure”, in North Wales. Basically it is an adventure course built high up in the pine trees. Everybody has a safety line attached to them but I am still very nervous about the whole thing. I am not really that fond of heights at all. There is also an activity called the “Powerfan Plummet” which is basically a jump from a 100ft platform! We have been assured that there are qualified instructors close at hand but in all honesty it does not make me feel any better.
After the day spent at the adventure park we are booked into a nearby hotel for a meal and drinks! I think I will need plenty to drink after spending a day high above the ground in 100ft trees!
