How to Prepare Articles for Article Directories
If you really want to make money on the internet, then no doubt you’ve heard about the gold mine it is article marketing. if you have not actually made money with articles yet, surely you are aware of the potential. I really hope you do, you miss something else.
There are lots of article submission softwares are available online, so the task of actually submitting your articles to article directories is very easy. Now the important point is that you have to engage your readers by providing them the best piece of your writing. If you are wasting the time of your readers then all your efforts are useless, because readers will just scan your article for about 5-10 seconds before they realize the article is boring and / or not filled with valuable content before they click away.
The following errors are commonly made by many people when it comes to writing articles and how to correct them or avoid them altogether:
1. Publishing content that does not help readers and / or are not interesting to read.
Either way the article does not get read (at least beyond a couple sentences or so). and remember that if your article does not get read all the way through, then your author’s resource box does not get read, either. and if your author’s resource box is not being read, backlink (link back to your website) will not get clicked. since this is the big reason you can submit articles to the directories, it pays to take the time to do your articles as informative and as interesting as possible.
If you can make your article interesting and witty at the same time, great. but focus on the content, so the reader feels he or she will have valuable new information or even old information presented by your unique point of view.
2. Submit an article for the wrong reason.
There are three big benefits you get for submitting articles to article directories. these benefits are: advertising, branding and lead generation. There is only one reason why an article was written … and it is to inform your readers. if your article fails to do so, then it will not achieve these 3 benefits because no one will be interested to read the article. so never ever forget that the primary purpose of writing an article is to inform your readers. why you are submitting an article to the directories are on your own “selfish” reasons, but think only of your readers when you write the article.
3. Not maximize the promotional opportunities to submit an article.
You probably already know that submitting articles is ideal for getting more backlinks back to your site. this is great, but you can get tons more traffic and better search engine placement from the same article, by doing the following:
Be sure to mention keywords in various places throughout your article. and not by any keyword, but 3-5 word keyword phrases. (These are called “long tail” keywords.) long tail keyword phrases do not get searched very often but when they do, they result in clicks to your website at a much higher percentage. think “quality” not “quantity”.
In fact, if you just write naturally you’ll probably end up using your keywords the optimum amount of times in different places. but it means that you need to write effective it is, write an informative article to begin with. this ensures that your keywords will show up naturally because it “forces” you to use them.
Anchor text is another thing that you should take. use anchor text when you can – especially in your author’s resource box. (Article directories will not allow you to use anchor text in the article itself.)
