The Royal Wedding ceremony Proved That Fairytales Do Come True!
The big event that I am referring to is of course the Royal Wedding of Prince William of England and his gorgeous bride, Kate Middleton.
There was plenty of speculation around the bride-to-be. Individuals were curious to see if she’d honor tradition and wear a tiara and whether her bridal dress would be classic and trendy or something more contemporary. Over 2 milliard individuals were glued to their television sets when the beautiful new bride finally arrived at the church.
She was elegantly dressed up in a lacy wedding outfit which was complimented by a beautiful tiara and a small bouquet – stunning enough to bring tears to many eyes!
While in excess of 2 milliard individuals were following the event around the world, nearly 1 million people were lining the streets of London seeking a glimpse of the happy couple, while 1900 men and women were fortunate enough to be at the actual marriage ceremony and about 600 individuals were invited to the wedding party afterwards.
Just imagine being the wedding planner of such a massive historical event! Just thinking back to my own wedding I can still recall how tricky it was to cater for 70 guests. Deciding who should sit where, what food to serve at the reception, what flowers to use on the tables, what wedding mementos to give the guests – it took months and months of preparation! I’m confident that you need nerves of steel and a very capable group to pull of a huge celebration such as the royal wedding!
My favourite part of a wedding is still the moment when the soon-to-be husband sees his bride-to-be for the first time, just as she starts to walk down the aisle. That look of pure amazement is often priceless and worth more than a 1000 words! The Royal Wedding wasn’t any different – the prince was completely overcome but still managed to whisper a quick “you look lovely, babe” as his bride-to-be joined him in front of the altar.
The moment that many individuals will remember for a long period to come, is probably the first kiss between the duke and duchess as they are now officially known. As they walked onto the veranda of the palace, more than a million people were standing there, waiting in anticipation for that special kiss. To everyone’s surprise (and delight) the world was rewarded by not one, but two kisses, a thing that will be talked about for years to come!
It just once again demonstrates that dreams do come true! Kate probably also had dreams of marrying a prince on a white horse and living in a castle with a whole army of servants and in her case her dreams came true!
Everything from the wedding gown to the wedding cake and wedding decorations were superb and I am honored to have been part of the celebration – even if it was from the comfort of my own lounge!
