How a rouge anti virus computer software impacted my business websites
False anti virus programs are a real problem at the present; I have only recently been affected by a rouge antivirus program that found its way in to my computer via an email I feel. Win 7 total security is the title of this virus but it also has additional names and its main purpose is to trick you into thinking that your pc is at risk and the only resolve to the problem is to purchase there product. Win 7 total security is a very clever and very irritating program that is designed to trick you out of your hard earned currency. You will know when you have it installed on your computer because you will be viewing a number of annoying pop ups informing you that your personal computer is infected, it then gives you only one selection and that option is to pay money for Win 7 total security which is by the way a total fake. The other really irritating thing about this virus is that it stops your Internet accsess to find a program that will eliminate it, pretty clever!.
There are a range of ways to eliminate this, one is take your computer into a repair shop and let them eliminate it or the second is to find the software to eliminate it your self. I used a program called McAfee and it didn’t it did not get rid of Win 7 total security, pretty annoying after shelling out £30.00 so I had to take the PC in for repair another £30.00. The PC repair service removed the virus and every things back to normal, I have installed AVG to protect me fro future attacks.
This wasn’t the end though, then found that a couple of my web sites had been interfered with as a direct consequence of the rouge antivirus, the program monitors the sites that you visit and records the details of the places that you visit and also the relative lo gin details, and then relay the info back to the people who sent out the virus. The two particular sites that I had visited that day where my hosting accounts for a couple of my employment web sites one my jobs Manchester site and the other was a jobs in Liverpool Internet site.
I had put a lot of time and trouble in to the seo for these two sites to get them top ten rankings on Google. The web site that was the worst affected by far was my jobs in Liverpool site as all the files on the server had been completely wiped out, the files were backed on the data base and the site was back on line in an hour or so. The web sites search engine position was affected it fell from position 5 on page one for the keywords jobs Liverpool to the fifth page of google, no doubt the site will climb the ranks again but it has had a temporary effect on my AdSense income. To avoid this install a first rate anti-spy-ware application like AVG or Avast the two programs are free downloads and will stop programs like this automatically installing on your computer.
