Online Shopping
Any mother, who has trundled around the supermarket with young children, will know what a nightmare this can be. You need to have eyes in the back of your head. Firstly they dawdle along daydreaming, secondly they start helping themselves to a snack from the shelves and next the baby needs changing. I always dreaded the weekly “big shop” and mostly tried to do it at night when the kids where in bed. Sometimes however, it was unavoidable and they had to come with me. Nightmare.
Hence, when supermarkets started offering a home delivery service, I was absolutely delighted. Basically this meant that I could do all my shopping online and have the luxury of the goods being delivered direct to my door. This must have been a woman’s idea.
I will never forget that first online supermarket shopping experience. Firstly I put all the kids in bed, I did not want to be disturbed. Secondly I poured myself a nice glass of wine and sat down at my computer. I clicked through the aisles methodically and found it fairly easy to find what I needed. I also realised that as I would not be unloading the groceries from the e Red Ford Fiesta Edinburgh car, I could order in bulk. Amazing. I ordered 5kg of potatoes, 16 dog tins and practically a whole vineyard of wine.
I never go in a supermarket these days and it has reduced my stress levels dramatically. Now I just need somebody to come up with a brainwave of how to revolutionise the school run. Another daily nightmare.
