Working From Home
The grass is always greener! I don’t think there has ever been a truer saying. Its human nature. No matter what we have, we always seem to need something else. For example when I lived in Wales, I always complained about being lonely and that my family were too far away. Now we are living back in England I moan that they are always calling around unexpectedly. Strange how that seems to happen. Another example, when I had my Audi TT I was always complaining about the lack of storage in the New Ford Mondeo Livingston car. However when I finally bought a 4 x4 I moaned it was too big to park.
There is one thing that I will never moan about though. The joys of working for myself, from home. I have heard people say they find working from home impossible due to a range of distractions or lack of self discipline. Some home workers find themselves watching Jeremy Kyle instead of working, not me though. I am very self motivated and have really reaped the benefits.
I work as a full time freelance writer. I have built up my own customer base over the past three years and financially I have never done better. I approach my work professionally and have never worked from bed or whilst dressed in my pyjamas. I set strict working hours and stick to them. Every Friday I treat myself to a glass of wine at my desk and Wednesday is cream cake day. I love working from home but I would only recommend it to those who are not easily led astray.
