New Ford for Sussex County Cricket Club
Sussex County Cricket Club (SCCC) has announced that they have taken delivery of 15 Ford vehicles. The fleet of new cars include the Ford Mondeo, Ford Focus ECOnetic and the Ford Kuga. Three Ford Transit vans have also been delivered to help grounds staff and transport the team kit. The Ford Focus ECOnetic and the Ford Kuga are two of the lowest CO2 emitting vehicles in their respective class.
The new Ford vehicles have been provided by Apex, the cricket club’s new official vehicle supplier and partner who provide Ford car leasing. The vehicles will be used by the Sussex County Cricket players including England star Monty Panesar, vice captain Murray Goodwin as well as other players. Support staff will also have access to these vehicles.
SCCC marketing and communications manager, Trevor Mould said: “We are very much aiming to reduce the club’s carbon footprint so the adoption of these latest, low-CO2 Ford models on to our fleet has helped significantly. In addition, the players find them ideal for their needs.”
Roland Standley – Apex Car Rental managing director, said: “We have been a club supporter for many seasons. It is great to see the Sussex players enjoying their new Ford vehicles and that the County is taking environmental issues to heart by working hard to achieve a reduction in emissions.”
Ford UK director of fleet development, Russell McGill, added: “Sussex County Cricket Club’s fleet choice was carefully considered and demonstrates how the latest vehicles from Ford’s environmentally advanced range can help reduce an organisation’s carbon footprint.”
