Ford Focus is 2011 Best Seller

During the weekend of 12th – 13th March 2011, Ford’s 550-strong dealership network welcomed customers new and old to its nationwide showrooms to see the all-new Ford Focus has entered the March plate-change month as 2011 best seller.

All new Ford Focus comes standard with voice-activated Bluetooth, USB connectivity, DAB digital radio, Thatcham Category 1 alarm and a Torque Vectoring Control system which optimises engine torque distribution between both driven wheels and mimics a limited slip differentia, and the price starts from £15,995.

The new 1.6 TDCi diesel-powered versions of the Focus deliver over 67mpg, while powertrains, which feature Ford’s new 1.6 EcoBoost turbo petrol engines, return more than 47mpg, both on the combined cycle.

Shipments to UK dealers via the company’s River Thames dock at Dagenham are flowing at a rate of 500 vehicles a day, 55% of UK cars ordered are Zetec series, 25% top-end Titanium models and a few models of the Fiesta for Sussex dealers. Ford Focus Estate deliveries will start next month to bring this body style to dealerships by May 2011.

Nigel Sharp, Ford Britain managing director, said: “Our new Ford Focus delivers a level of refinement and comfort, combined with hi-tech features and connectivity, not found on a medium volume car. Dealers are ready with enough new Focus stock to keep the car in pole position in the marketplace.”

The Ford Focus has been the UK’s top-selling car for 10 years, figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show Ford Focus as 2011 best-seller year to date.
