Karaoke World Records

World records are what defy the regular; these attempts flip the normal amusement of man. The most eccentric and the most interesting actions are the ones which are the most noticed. That is why some do it for the purpose of entertainment.

Guiness World Records probably has the biggest archives of world-challenging acts, from the physical up to the religious activities. The book contains different records from different people, things and events around the world. If you read it, you will be amazed of what the culture of the world could do to your typical stuffs.

Karaoke also does contribute to this movement; events were organized for the sake of breaking a record. Of course, the karaoke machine is involved in these events.

Finland holds the record for the largest people singing simultaneously. Over 80,000 people sang a rock song named “Hard Rock Hallelujah” in Helsinki. The song is performed by the band Lordi, a hard rock band who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006. The powerful chant of the vocalist and the head-banging beats makes the song a good choice for the record-breaking event. It was conducted during the concert of the band after their victory in the European contest.

Mass karaoke singing is also a big trend in the karaoke scene. The event held by T-Mobile in Trafalgar Square for their campaign “Life’s for Sharing” involved karaoke also. Bypassers in the squares were invited to sing in a big karaoke scene. Pink, the pop artist, surprised the crowd by dwelling in the center.

Aside from mass karaoke singing, there was also a record for the most hours spent on karaoke. United Kingdom holds the record; it lasted for 781 hours and 31 minutes from the period of December 30, 2009 to February 1, 2009, almost 1 months of non-stop karaoke marathon. It was held at the Castle Hotel Tamworth by Tim Wedgewood, a British celebrity. The previous record was held by Finland, 240 hours.
