Super chipped Ford S-Max
The new Ford S-Max went on sale a few months ago; this has given the engineers at Superchips the opportunity to readily pinpoint and remove the in-built performance compromises within the Ford S-MAX’s Bosch MED17 ECU, enabling a healthy performance gain.
The Superchips remap is for the 2010 onwards Ford S-Max that used the Ford’s new 203PS 2.0 litre direct injection and turbocharged ‘Ecoboost’ engine. This new engine will become a mainstay for the Ford’s petrol engine range for the next few years.
Independent Dyno testing has proved that the Superchips ECU remap for the 2.0-litre Ford Ecoboost S-MAX model results in a power gain of 40 bhp at 5648 rpm, with performance increasing from 1500 rpm to the rev limiter. The remap also increases the maximum torque by 67Nm at only 2065 rpm.
Superchips has placed a lot of emphasis on retaining the Ford S-MAX’s renowned 35 mpg combined fuel economy. So despite the performance increase resulting from the upgrade, if a Superchips remapped Ford S-MAX is driven in a ‘like for like’ manner, fuel consumption will not be adversely affected.
As with all Superchip installations the S-Max like the Ford C-Max in Hastings has to be chipped by trained technicians at a Superchip performance centre. The Superchips conversion is covered by a full Customer Service Guarantee and an industry-leading 12 month / 30,000 supplementary full vehicle warranty. The Superchips’ ECU remap is available now priced at £455, including VAT.
The new S-Max looks very sporty and now with this ECU Remap it will go as fast as it looks; giving family car drivers the opportunity to have a bit of fun too.
