Can I Sell My Phone If Its Damaged?
Recently, these mobile phone recycling sites online have started to become more and more popular. The ONE stink that people have about mobile phone recycling is that these sites seem to ONLY take brand new phones from the last two years and that these mobile phone recycling sites only take phones that are working. But, what if you, are like me? I have at least 10 different phones that are from the past 2 years, but they are no longer in working condition! Well, fortunately some sites online DO take phones that are broken.
One thing that they usually will not take though, are phones that have water damage. Other than that, you can find phone recycling sites where you can sell your mobile and get cash for phones. Most providers will look at non-working phones, offering a reduced price for these (expect to get around 10-50% of the working price) or at the very least will re-cycle them for you. Typical examples of “damage” include: badly damaged casing, pin locked or if it does not power up.
Phones that are water damaged, physically broken or have unresponsive or cracked screens will probably get zero cash. If your phone is too damaged, you should still take it to a location where they will dispose of it properly. Landfills and mobile phones are starting to get out of hand ALL over the world, not just the UK and not just the US where mobile phones are used the most.
When you sell mobile phone that is damaged, you will get less money than if it was cash for phones that were working. For example, iPhone recycling is a great way to earn quite a bit of money back. I’ve seen some sites that will give you up to 300GBP for a used phone that is for iPhone recycling. ON the other hand, if it’s a damaged phone, you are probably looking at 100 to 150GBP, but hey, that is still a really good price!
So, while selling your iPhone recycling is going to be a cool way to make money, the iPhone doesn’t HAVE to be in working condition, but it sure does help, especially if you are specifically doing this for cash for phones! As always if they are used, but working – awesome. If they are used, but damaged, that’s okay too, you will just have to get less money!
