If private key is not kept private then hackers can create one’s sign without the consent of the person. Next is how companies put electronic seal on the document is a completely different procedure than that in which the signatures are scanned and then pasted on the mails or documents. The process is useful in number of ways. It ensures that the file has been sent originally by a known person. It had not been modified and nobody else can read it.
