How to Wash a New Era hat Without Ruining It
New Era Hat are fitted baseball-style caps made of wool. These caps are fairly expensive, making it important to know how to properly care for them. While you cannot wash the caps in the washing machine, you do have the ability to hand-clean in a manner that removes buildup without causing any damage to the New Era 59fifty. Cleaning should be done as needed with a few items you probably already have in the home fitted hat.
1
Wipe gently across the interior sweat band, where most dirt and stain residue builds up. Continue across the cap until you remove most if not all of the buildup.
2
Rinse out your cleaning rag, wring out and wipe over the sweatband to remove soapy residue. Let the New Era air dry.
3
Rub a lint roller over the hat, or wrap a piece of masking tape around two fingers with the sticky side away from the fingers and rub over the cap. This removes dust, pet hair and other loose buildup that accumulates on the new era caps.
4
Spot-clean with a damp cleaning rag.
5
Drizzle about three drops of laundry detergent onto the damp rag, and spray a mist of stain-removing spray on the rag.
