A Guide To Help Access Experts Create Relationship Between Tables Using Microsoft Access

Microsoft access is a quick database storing software, which helps access programmers in viewing data comfortably at home or even when they make it for a business organization. Experts can also build relationship between tables, so as to view them together, at the same time. By viewing together they can make reports and queries comfortably and also save lot of their precious time. Before creating relationship between tables, experts need to create primary key for each table and link it with an identification number, which is also known as code.

The primary key on each of the table has different, but unique records, which make them special. The difference in the information of the primary key helps the access programmers in identifying the records. Here are few tips that can help you in creating relation between tables in access.

1.    The first and the most important thing that the programmers need to do is to, create tables, containing data that is available. For example, while preparing spreadsheet for an organization, you can create a table with the list of names and phone number, who can be future prospect of the business. In a different table you can record the day on day progress of the business and so on.
2.    After creating the table access experts can create primary key on each table by clicking within the field wherever you want to create the key, in the design view menu. Then you need to click on the primary key button present in the tool bar.
3.    Once the table is ready you can create relationship between them by clicking on the relationship button on the toolbar.
4.    Then access programmers need to select the show option, in order to view all the tables prepare by them in the database.
5.    Next, you must double click on each of the table that you need to add in the relationship list. After selecting the required tables, close the show table dialog box.
6.    Just after you finish selecting drag the primary field from the main table to the related field and then release the mouse button. As soon as the mouse button is released, an edit relationship dialog box appears.
7.    In the dialog box click on create, to establish relationship between tables. After clicking you can notice a line connecting the tables. Once the relation is created close the create relation dialog box and save the setting.

Access programmers can also check if they have created relationship between tables properly, by double clicking on the main table. As soon as you double click, you can view the main table with a plus sign. This plus sign indicated that you can open the next table also; similarly this plus sign can be seen on all the tables that have been related to each other.  Once the relationship is created experts find it easy to create forms and data. However, relationship does not have to be predefined; you can also create temporary ones as and when required.
