The Big Bang Theory
The Big Bang Theory‘s laugh track is horrible. Let’s just get that out of the way now. Not since The Drew Carey Show‘s inexplicable audience-of-drunken-fat-men have I been so perplexed by the vigor of HAAA!!’s and OHHH!!’s, at the slightest ribs. Really, it almost reaches the volume levels of Disney Channel sitcoms, so eerily and psychotically exuberant it instantly recalls that urban fact that canned laughter is from people who have been dead for decades. The rare and claustrophobic experience of being trapped watching a story with maniacal ghosts, however, does subside slightly after watching enough , and The Big Bang Theory will eventually make you laugh on your own. This is because of little else though than aspiring Nobel Prize winner and aspiring Vulcan, Dr. Sheldon Cooper, played with no fear by Jim Parsons, the show’s major contribution to pop culture.
Anyway this sitcom is hilarious! It uses a lot of smart jokes which I like very much and their nerdy characters are so funny. So in brief the sitcom is about 2 roommates (Leonard and Sheldon) who lived in an apartment where one day a new neighbor get in (Penny). Well Leonard and Sheldon are two geniuses who works as a Professor in some learning/study center. The storyline becomes interesting because Leonard has a crush on Penny while he himself is the “nerd” type who has difficulties in hooking up with a girl. Ow plus they have 2 other friends Rajesh and Howard, who are really funny!
My most favorite character in this series is Sheldon, Dr. Sheldon Cooper to be exact. The roommate of Leonard, where in this series the character is being portrayed as someone whose IQ is above average. What makes it so hilarious is because Sheldon is unlike regular people, probably because he is TOO SMART he has his own way of thinking and regulations in doing/ seeing everything. It is very funny how he always wants something to go on his way and/or how he explained/ correct his friends when they use the wrong grammar/knowledge about something.
The Sheldon character itself somehow reminds me of myself LOL. I know that being a perfectionist I always wanted everything to go by my way or using the method that I regularly uses. But of course I am not as “pushy” as Sheldon in the series.
