Struggled with SWF files for a long time. However, still searching for a .swf desktop standalone Player. Here i would like to share some tips on how to tackle the issue.

Tip 1: You can choose Firefox(provided adobe flash installed into Firefox) to open the SWF files: right click .swf files, then choose “Open with” ->Firefox. Alternatively, take your chance to use VLC media player

SWF & FLV Player is a basic media player that allows users to play Flash files in both the SWF and FLV formats. There was nothing about the program that particularly impressed us, but it did work well enough for playing both types of files.

The program’s interface is sleek and fairly intuitive, although we did find it slightly annoying that the program’s viewer, controls, and playlist display in three different modules. Plus, the program lets users create playlists of videos. However,the functions for converting SWF files to an image series and capturing SWF screenshots are disabled in the free version of the program.
