Why I like Tankless Water Heater
I am not a hardware store owner, neither am I a hot water supplier, if there is such a thing. So one would ask how the tankless water heater can be good to my business when I am not even a water heater supplier and contractor. A contractor, yes I am, but a general civil works contractor. So how can this help my business?
The story goes like this. One of my first important clients operated a chain of fast food outlets. The first project they gave me was an executive vacation house in the middle of nowhere. It does sound mysterious and scary, but it was not. That place was in Agusan and it was beautiful. The scenery and the hospitality of the entire populace were terrific. The site was situated in an isolated area converted into a large 160 acre fish pond where they grow St. Peter’s fish and dungeness crabs. The area was economically productive and naturally beautiful. There was an endless supply of cool spring water you can even drink and the water pressure gushing forth is enough to supply a two-storey house.
So where does the tankless water heater come into the picture? As the construction went on, everything was proceeding smoothly. It was octagonal in shape and indigenous materials were used. So it gives out a kind of exotic image to anyone. It was a beautiful house.
A day before I was supposed to turn over the rest house, the chairman himself came to inspect the site. That was the first time I saw him and I realized he was a 78 year old guy. He was impressed with the house and because of that I was very hopeful. His personal assistant called me aside to ask if there is hot water available for bathing since the guy is old, and he bathes in hot water only. That was the only time I thought about hot water and because of the lack of hot water, the goodwill I have for such excellent workmanship might just be for naught. This guy is a grouch. He can like you one minute and he can throw you out the next.
I needed to act fast. I have no time to build a water heating system because I need to turn-over the project by the following day.. Guess what helped me save the day? Yes, the tankless water heater. I had to go to the city which was about eighty miles away from the rest house to buy a tankless water heater, paid for it in cash and hand carried it back to the site. We installed the tankless water heater in two hours. In less than a day, everything is complete.
The chairman was pleased with my work and showed me his gratitude and he showed it big time. He gave me the projects to construct several fast food chains and it keeps on going. Whenever I sign a new contract, I cannot keep myself from thinking: what if I could not install the water heater on time in that first contract? Probably, I will not be able to get more new work from them, and maybe I have to close the business. Sometimes, you just need some luck and the tankless water heater.
