CycloDS iEvolution User Guide
CycloDS iEvolution is a powerful modern flashcard released by CycloDS team, it works great on DS/DSi/3DS.It is the world’s first flashcard which supports DSi mode,DSi-Mode has the ability to run ROMs and Homebrew at 2x the CPU speed of DS-Mode with 16MB of accessible RAM. Additionally, running properly dumped DSi enhanced (DSi-hybrid) games in DSi-Mode offers access to the built in camera and WPA wireless encryption. Cyclops has incorporated a “compatibility layer”, which is described as software allowing DS-Mode Homebrew and ROMs access to the increased speed benefits and additional RAM when executed in DSi-Mode.
Compared with another good flashcard supercard dstwo, it is a litte complicated to use this card. Before you use iEvolution for the first time, a suitable “bootstrap” must be installed. Before this is done, the device will bein a blank state and if inserted into a NDS at this point, will not be detected. The bootstrap is made up of two parts – one part for NDS mode and one part for DSi mode. Data from two separate ROM files must be merged with the bootstrap data, one for each of the two parts.
For europa version of the iEVO Bootstrap, the following two ROM files are required:
1) MechAssault – Phantom War (U)
2) Mon Coach Personnel – Mes Recettes Plaisir et Ligne (DSi Enhanced) (FR)
How to use:
1. Obtain the required ROM files, as listed below
2. Extract the contents of this archive to a directory on your PC and load the “iEVOBootTool” program
3. Select the source firmware file, which is the .bin file included along with this archive. Also select the DSLite and DSi ROM files, as specified below
4. Click “Process”. Providing there were no errors (such as corrupt ROM files), a file named “BOOTUPDT.EVO” will be placed in the same directory as the iEVOBootTool program
5. Copy BOOTUPDT.EVO to the root directory of a MicroSD card
6. Ensure that iEvolution does not have any MicroSD inserted, and then insert the cartridge into the updater dongle
7. Insert the updater dongle into a USB port on your PC and wait for the red LED to light up
8. Once the red LED is lit up, while keeping iEvolution plugged into the PC, insert the MicroSD card containing the BOOTUPDT.EVO file
9. The red LED should switch off after a few seconds, which indicates that the iEvolution bootstrap update is in progress. If the LED does not switch off, or if it flashes on and off, then there is a problem. This is often simply the result of contact issues with the MicroSD card, so try again from the beginning if you get such an error.
10. After a few minutes, the red LED will switch back on. This indicates that the bootstrap update has completed successfully.
11. Remove the “BOOTUPDT.EVO” und copy the new cyclods ievolution firmware “boot.ievo” to the root directory of MicroSD card.Your iEvolution is now ready to use.
