Nissan Note, the Almera replacement
Nissan was one of the first manufacturers to embrace crossover type vehicles, in its line up today they currently only have the Nissan Leaf as a conventional hatchback body style. But, the Nissan Leaf is by no means conventional; it is an electric hybrid vehicle.
Nissan replaced the Almera with the Nissan Note. The Almera is a traditional 3 or 5 door hatchback, which was also available as a 4 door saloon. The Nissan Note is a 5 door Mini MPV based on the Renault Modus, it competes with the Citroen C3 Picasso and Vauxhall Meriva. It was launched in the UK in 2006 but was available in Japan since 2004.
The Nissan Note was available in three trim levels S, SE and SVE. The S is the base model and comes with full electric windows, alloy wheels and front fog lights or the Flexi-Board boot system. The middle level model has the additional 16″ Alloys, Air Con, front fog lights and Flexi-Board Boot. The range topping SVE model comes with Climate Control, Rear Privacy Glass, 17″ Alloys and ESP.
These trim levels were then replaced with Visia, Acenta, Acenta R and the Tekna for the new Nissan Note in Dorset. The entry level Visia is almost identical to the base S model, the Acenta, Acenta R and Tekna now come complete with MP3 Auxiliary jack and Bluetooth Car Stereo as no cost options. In the UK there are 5 specifications to choose from Visia, Visia+, Acenta, Acenta S, and Tekna. All UK models are fitted with 4 airbags, a single CD player, remote central locking, electric front windows, electric door mirrors and a sliding rear seat.
